Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Sr External Communications & Public Relations Manager to lead enterprise-wide external communications from our Hopkins, MN office. You will drive strategic, crisis-ready messaging, elevate our corporate reputation and partner with senior leaders across the organization.

You will oversee media relations, storytelling, press materials, and executive visibility while collaborating with Marketing, Legal, and other teams to ensure consistent brand voice and impactful

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in communications or related field.
• 8–12 years of progressive experience in public relations or external communications.
• Strong media relations, storytelling, and crisis communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise-wide external communications and PR strategies.
• Advise senior leaders on messaging, positioning and stakeholder engagement.
• Prepare executives for media interviews and public appearances.
• Lead crisis communications plans and rapid-response efforts.
• Oversee press materials, media kits and Q&As for external campaigns.
• Collaborate with marketing and internal comms to amplify storytelling.
