Job summary

Servier in the U.S. is a Boston-based biopharmaceutical company seeking an Associate Director of External Communications. The role drives external narrative, strengthens enterprise reputation and leads messaging across channels, initiatives and opportunities.

The ideal candidate translates priorities into compelling external content, partners with Corporate Affairs and agencies, and builds scalable communications capabilities for a growing organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of 8+ years of corporate communications experience in biotech/pharma or related sectors.
• Experience leading external communications, corporate narrative, reputation and/or thought leadership programs.
• Exceptional writing, storytelling and message development for executive and external audiences.
• Ability to operate independently with sound judgment in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Experience collaborating with senior functional leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Combination of agency and in-house biopharma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and activate external communications strategies translating priorities into cohesive storytelling.
• Support external corporate narrative; ensure messaging reflects across channels and materials.
• Lead development of high-quality external materials: messaging, statements, leadership content.
• Partner with Corporate Affairs and cross-functional stakeholders to align storytelling with priorities.
• Strengthen external communications processes, messaging tools and best practices as the organization grows.
• Execute measurement approaches and track KPIs for enterprise communications initiatives.
• Develop thought leadership strategies and visibility opportunities for senior leaders.
• Partner with external agencies to execute media and external communications strategies.
• Contribute to communications planning for milestones, partnerships and high-visibility moments.
• Monitor external landscape for reputational opportunities and emerging issues.
