Job summary

PEMEX Deer Park is seeking an experienced Senior External Affairs Advisor to lead external communications, partner with internal teams, and coordinate media relations at the Deer Park refinery. The role supports crisis planning, incident response, and social impact initiatives within local communities.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in communications or public affairs, at least a decade in related fields, and strong NIMS IC/PIO capabilities. Bilingual preference is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public or external affairs.
• 10+ years in internal/external communications, media relations, and crisis/incident response.
• Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred.
• Experience in energy or manufacturing sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead external communications strategy aligned with business goals.
• Act as Deputy PIO in Emergency Operations Center.
• Manage media relations and crises communications.
• Coordinate with internal teams for integrated campaigns and social outreach.
• Develop community outreach and social impact initiatives.
• Log external engagements and manage reporting.
