Job Description:

Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is seeking a Community Engagement Advisor in Midland, TX. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Corporate Affairs, the Community Engagement Advisor will be responsible for (1) overseeing robust engagement with local communities where PR operates and (2) managing PR’s local public relations strategy.

General Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain close relationships with community leaders in localities where PR operates or has offices, including Midland, TX, Pecos, TX, Carlsbad, NM, and Eunice, NM (PR’s “key communities”).
  • Coordinate with peer companies with operations in PR’s key communities and develop strong relationships with community affairs heads at such peer companies.
  • Travel regularly to key communities for in-person meetings with community leaders.
  • Organize and execute local events, including partnerships with local nonprofits, cities, counties, and chambers of commerce to increase PR’s visibility in local communities.
  • Administer PR’s presence at and involvement in major events, including NAPE, trade organization meetings, and similar events. Prepare presentations for major events.
  • Oversee PR’s capital investments in key communities, ensuring that capital projects PR invests in are carried out according to plan.
  • Participate in relevant Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP) meetings and advocate for PSP project funding in key communities.
  • Participate in trade organization meetings relevant to community affairs and communications.
  • Create and manage a community affairs budget, identifying local sponsorship opportunities and making recommendations on PR’s participation in third party events.
  • Manage and implement PR’s charitable giving strategy and maintain annual budget with respect to charitable giving.
  • Oversee PR’s employee nonprofit matching program.
  • Manage PR’s public relations strategy at a local level by maintaining strong relationships with media and coordinating the release of stories about PR’s community involvement.
  • Identify and thoughtfully respond to potential issues in key communities, including communications with local communities during crisis events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or other related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in community affairs and communications, preferably in the Permian Basin.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours when necessary, including for routine travel to local communities.
