Job summary

Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Environment and Safety (DASN E&S) duties include leading environmental planning, compliance, restoration, and range readiness programs to support Navy and Marine Corps operations. You will oversee safety across the enterprise and interact with federal agencies, the White House, and Congress as the principal advisor on environmental and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Executive experience in managing and directing operations of a senior-level staff organization.
• Experience in overseeing development and implementation of large multi-faceted programs.
• Experience leading program execution with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental planning, compliance, restoration, natural resources conservation, and range readiness programs to support Navy and Marine Corps operations.
• Oversee operational, occupational, and acquisition safety programs to prevent mishaps and manage risks across the enterprise.
• Represent the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations and Environment) in meetings with Federal Agencies, the White House, Congress, and federally recognized tribes.
• Serve as the DoW Executive Agent for air and water quality, and act as the DON Federal Preservation Officer for historic assets.
• Direct a multidisciplinary Secretariat staff, managing resources and establishing priorities across the environment and safety portfolio.
