This in-person role at the NYC office is Tuesday–Thursday, with the option for remote work on Monday/Friday.

Qualifications

About The Job Senior Executive Assistant

The Global Impact Investing Network, Inc. (GIIN) is the leading industry body for impact investing. Since 2009, the GIIN has worked to increase the scale and effectiveness of impact investing to solve systemic problems facing people and the planet. With approximately 450 member organizations across six continents, the GIIN serves as a hub for innovation, ideas and information to help investors build a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient world.

We are looking for a Senior Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and operational support to our Executive Team. Reporting to our Chief of Staff and working alongside another Executive Assistant, the Senior EA will proactively manage complex calendars, coordinate travel and meetings, and help executives prioritize their time. The role also provides day-to-day direction to the Executive Assistant, supports board relations and materials, and contributes to broader office operations and special projects.

Responsibilities

Executive Office Support & Coordination

  • Provide high-level administrative support to executives, including complex calendar management, correspondence, document drafting/editing, expense reporting, and meeting preparation (agendas, materials, notes).
  • Serve as a central point of coordination across the Executive Office, driving alignment on priorities, schedules, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain effective gatekeeping practices to prioritize executive time and ensure schedules are optimized and adhered to.
  • Communicate proactively with executives, the Chief of Staff, and key stakeholders regarding scheduling changes, upcoming commitments, and competing priorities.
  • Support the research, prioritization, and follow-up of incoming issues and requests, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature.
  • Work in close partnership with the EA to manage and prioritize flows to provide seamless support to our Executive team.

Board Relations & Governance Support

  • Support preparation for and execution of Board of Directors activities, including materials coordination and meeting logistics.
  • Manage board-related administrative processes, including board platform management and documentation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strict confidentiality.
  • Help maintain and improve processes related to Board engagement and governance workflows.

Operations, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Manage and track legal workflows and contract processes end-to-end, supporting timely progress, stakeholder coordination, and strong documentation practices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across administrative, legal, and operational workflows.
  • Maintain strong data hygiene and organization across systems, including SharePoint, Salesforce, and Outlook (calendars and contacts).

Communications & Relationship Management

  • Draft and prepare high-quality business communications, including memos, emails, letters, and other documents on behalf of the Executive Office and/or Chief of Staff.
  • Support executive communications with key internal and external stakeholders, including donors, partners, Board members, and their teams, as directed.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all interactions.

Special Projects, Events & Office Support

  • Lead or support special projects on behalf of the Executive Office and Chief of Staff, often involving cross-functional coordination and sensitive information.
  • Plan and execute events and initiatives, including Board meetings, staff engagements, and internal gatherings.
  • Support office operations and management needs as required.
Qualifications
  • 5–7 years experience providing direct administrative support to senior executives, preferably at the C-suite level and in a fast-paced or complex environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and competing demands with strong judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting multiple executives and coordinating across teams; exposure to Board or governance processes is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to track and advance workstreams independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive work forward.
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and tact.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite; familiarity with SharePoint, Salesforce, Slack, and Asana is a plus.
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred.

LOCATION & WORK ELIGIBILITY

This is an in-person role (Tuesday – Thursday), with the option for remote work on Monday/Friday.

Candidates must possess valid authorization to work in the United States that does not require employment visa sponsorship. For example, possessing U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency (Green Card).

Compensation

The GIIN is committed to pay equity. The salary range for this role is between $80,000 and $85,000 per annum, with exact salary depending on qualification, experience, and non-profit market alignment, with an excellent benefits package.
