Job summary

Safety National is seeking an Excess WC Claims Manager to oversee high-exposure workers' compensation claims from initial assignment to closure. You will assess coverage, set reserves, negotiate settlements, and influence medical and litigation strategies to drive outcomes.

In this role, you will work with TPAs, defense counsel, and internal leadership, guiding claim handling, monitoring performance, and communicating on large losses. Hybrid work with some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• 5+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation claims adjusting with an insurance carrier or TPA.
• Self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to travel for audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-exposure workers' compensation claims from assignment through closure.
• Evaluate coverage and exposure, establish and update reserves, negotiate settlements within authority.
• Guide medical and litigation strategies to drive claims toward resolution.
• Collaborate with TPAs, defense counsel, Medical Management, and underwriters.
• Direct and advise TPAs on claim handling; monitor counsel performance and communicate large losses.
