Job summary

The Cincinnati Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Excess & Surplus Lines Underwriter for the San Diego, California region. The candidate must reside in the territory or near Gilbert, AZ. Relocation and training are provided as part of Cincinnati’s development program.

The role emphasizes partnership with producers, pricing accuracy, and developing relations with reinsurers. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in commercial lines P&C are required; ASLI/CPCU are preferred.

Qualifications

• Property and casualty underwriting experience.
• 5+ years of experience with commercial lines P&C.
• ASLI or CPCU designations preferred.
• Carrier background; complete training in Cincinnati, OH prior to deployment.
• Bachelor’s degree or extensive relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Solicit, underwrite and price new and renewal surplus lines business.
• Determine risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms and conditions.
• Develop, analyze and evaluate information for complex risks.
• Achieve production and loss ratio goals within assigned regional territory.
• Travel within assigned territory; may include overnight stays.
