Job summary

Cloth & Flame is seeking a Director of Events to lead our events department and personally produce programs while we scale. You will partner with sales, creative, design, production, culinary, and accounting to ensure deliverables are priced accurately and executed to the highest standard.

This hands-on leader will evolve toward greater team management as the agency grows, overseeing staffing, budgets, and cross‑functional collaboration to maintain exceptional guest experiences and profitability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in event production, experiential marketing, hospitality, or related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills across concurrent programs.
• Experience producing events from planning to execution.
• Experience mentoring or leading event professionals.
• Experience managing event budgets with margin awareness.
• Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Calm, resourceful, solutions-oriented under pressure.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as schedules require.
• Arizona base preferred; open to nearby states for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in client calls, planning meetings, site visits, and final details calls.
• Oversee concurrent events, assigning producers, support, and freelance resources.
• Produce events personally while supervising department, evolving to leadership as growth occurs.
• Manage and develop a small team including project manager and contract producers.
• Forecast staffing needs based on volume, complexity, and capacity.
• Review budgets and creative decks to ensure pricing is achievable.
• Own budget updates, change orders, contracts, and expense reviews.
• Approve hours for submission to accounting.
• Collaborate with the Director of Culinary to align processes between F&B and events.
• Oversee final deliverables with production and warehouse to ensure quality.
