Job summary

The University of Delaware’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks an Events Manager to plan and execute internal and external programs in CAS venues, engaging campus and community audiences.

This role partners with the Director, CAS Events to develop the annual events strategy, oversee space use, staffing, timelines, and budgets, and serve as the primary contact for external clients hosting events on or off campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of event planning experience.
• Experience with high-end events and VIP clients preferred.
• Ability to plan, produce, and coordinate event logistics.
• Strong written, interpersonal, organizational and oral skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual events strategy for CAS venues and align with College priorities.
• Serve as primary contact for external events in CAS performance venues; manage space use, staffing, timelines, billing, and on-site issues.
• Assist in planning and execution of all aspects of performances and events in CAS venues, including logistics and budgeting.
• Evaluate event success using attendance, feedback, and ROI metrics; recommend improvements.
• Exercise diplomacy while liaising among contractors, organizers, faculty, and administrators.
• Lead and coordinate tours for prospective students, guests, and administrators.
• Assess event risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Perform event setup and staging and maintain event policies and deadlines.
• Provide support to hiring and timesheet approval for part-time events crew staff.
• Supervise event staff and coordinate day-of-event ticket sales.
