Job summary

Cohera in Los Angeles is seeking a hospitality‑driven Design and Development Manager to lead the full proposal process, from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with client goals, budget, and brand identity.

You will own all aspects of proposal development, price components, and vendor outreach, coordinate site inspections, and collaborate with Sales and Marketing to create memorable events while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Six years of work experience with at least three in hospitality.
• One year in proposal writing, event design, creative marketing, or destination management.
• Strong client relations, budget, contract and vendor management skills.
• Excellent pricing, formatting and storytelling abilities.
• Advanced writing and communication skills; able to tailor content for clients.
• Excellent project management and organization; knowledge of LA venues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full proposal process from concept to delivery for high‑impact programs.
• Own all proposal development aspects: ideation, narrative, pricing, formatting, presentation.
• Scope and price décor, entertainment, venues, staffing, transport, activities.
• Write creative descriptions for activities, venues and restaurants for client materials.
• Initial vendor outreach to confirm availability and gather service details.
• Coordinate with Sales and Marketing during pre‑sale; conduct site visits and meetings.
• Manage holds, site inspections, and payments with vendors; ensure timely closings.
• Maintain tariff library with updated services and category offerings.
• Support ECS inventory maintenance and vendor documentation; ensure accuracy.
• Build strong vendor relationships for reliable service and competitive pricing.
• Attend client meetings and site visits; assist with logistics and on‑site presence.
• Stay informed on local venues, experiences and trends to inspire proposals.
• Ensure pricing accuracy, margins and timelines across proposals and systems.
