Job summary

Hyundai-Kia America Technical Center, Inc. seeks an Electric Vehicle All Electric Range Development - Sr. Engineer or Engineer II to drive energy efficiency initiatives for current and next-gen EVs.

You will lead testing, analyze data, and collaborate across Propulsion and Product teams to push MPGe improvements while considering cost and drivability. The role requires strong experience in propulsion systems, powertrain testing, and model-based development, with domestic and international travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• 4+ years in automotive industry: instrumentation/testing, BEV performance, and data analysis.
• Experience with electrified powertrain systems, thermal management, and vehicle dynamics.
• Experience leading test instrumentation and experimental setups.
• Strong written reporting and ability to present results to engineers and management.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and identify targets for EV energy efficiency (MPGe) through testing and benchmarking.
• Investigate and integrate advanced propulsion technologies to improve efficiency and drivability.
• Analyze competitive data and trends in vehicle fuel economy and energy efficiency.
• Develop and validate new technologies for improved vehicle energy efficiency and system performance.
• Collaborate with Propulsion, Product Planning, Regulation, and other teams on EV efficiency initiatives.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
