Job summary

Harbinger, based in Garden Grove, CA, seeks a Senior Powertrain Test Engineer to drive system-level testing of EV powertrains. You will lead validation efforts, develop automated test software, and collaborate with test engineers to improve instrumentation and data integrity.

You will design test rigs and dynamometers, focusing on electrical, mechanical, and software integration, and document procedures for knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years in validation testing and system integration (electrical, mechanical and software).
• Experience with NI hardware (PXIe-RT, cRIO, cDAQ) and real-time/FPGA modules.
• Deep understanding of dynamometer operation for high-voltage EV powertrains.
• Software development and scripting for automation.
• Ability to write drivers for NI-XNET and NI-VISA over TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

• Lead component and system-level development and validation testing of electric motors and drive units in the lab.
• Increase testing efficiency and data integrity via advanced methodologies and automation.
• Design electrical control panels for automated test systems (power distribution, grounding, fuses, relays).
• Develop and maintain automated test software (LabVIEW or similar) for control of test hardware.
• Analyze data to reproduce and characterize failures for rapid issue resolution.
• Architect dynamometers and HIL systems for development testing of advanced projects.
• Document system designs, schematics, software logic, and test procedures.
