Job summary

Harbinger, an American EV company, is seeking a Test Engineer focused on vehicle integration and ECU software validation. You will bridge software and hardware, ensure robust ECU communications, and support SIL/HIL testing using Vector tools and network analysis.

The role emphasizes hands-on firmware validation, CAN/CAN FD and Automotive Ethernet networks, and data-driven debugging with Wireshark and related tools in a fast-paced EV platform environment in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in automotive software integration, HIL/SIL testing, or embedded firmware validation.
• Proven hands-on experience with the Vector toolchain (CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer, vSignalyzer) for measurement, calibration, and simulation.
• Strong proficiency with Wireshark, tcpdump, and automotive protocols including CAN, CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet, UDS, and XCP.

Responsibilities

• Software Validation & Integration: Integrate and validate software components across ECUs, sensors, and vehicle platforms, supporting SIL, HIL, and vehicle-level testing activities.
• Network Simulation & Analysis: Use CANoe and CANalyzer to simulate ECU behavior, monitor bus traffic, and debug communication issues across CAN, CAN FD, and Automotive Ethernet networks.
• Measurement & Calibration: Utilize CANape for real-time ECU calibration, XCP data measurement, and diagnostic flashing, while using vSignalyzer for offline data analysis and visualization of measurement logs.
• Deep Packet Inspection: Analyze logs, traces, and complex network captures using Wireshark to troubleshoot SOME/IP, DoIP, UDP, and TCP protocols on vehicle ethernet networks.
• Module Flashing & Configuration: Use RaptorCAL to program, calibrate, and manage parameter sets for Raptor-based and production vehicle control units.
• Performance Optimization: Conduct CPU, memory, and task scheduling profiling to monitor and optimize software stack performance on embedded multi-core MCU/SoC platforms.
