Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in Superior Township, MI is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead EV battery system design for xEV programs.

You will coordinate with Hyundai Korea R&D Center, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver battery systems that meet performance, safety, and reliability targets. Key responsibilities include driving DFMEA/DVP&R, managing ECRs and PPAPs, and delivering design changes through production milestones.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience in xEV high voltage batteries, automotive background preferred.
• Experience with design release processes and PPAP in production contexts.
• Familiar with DFMEA and DVP&R activities for battery systems.
• Ability to lead cross-functional design reviews with internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop high voltage battery systems for xEV production programs.
• Manage design releases and engineering changes across specs and parts.
• Coordinate with Korea R&D and suppliers to ensure timely decisions.
• Prepare and present technical results and validation plans.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
