Job summary

Aecon is seeking an Estimator (Transmission) to accurately cost labour, equipment and materials for transmission projects. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will prepare detailed tender submissions and take responsibility for bid accuracy and timely delivery.

The role requires a diploma/degree in Civil, Construction, Electrical or Business and 7–10 years of estimating or field experience in transmission hydro infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Civil, Construction, Electrical or Business.
• 7–10 years of estimating/operational experience in Transmission Hydro Infrastructure.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents.
• Thorough knowledge of contract language, terms and conditions and bonding.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Shared accountability for the overall financial performance of awarded projects.
• Analyze documents, specifications, proposals and addenda in preparation for pricing.
• Conduct price-related communications with clients, vendors and subcontractors.
• Review project site conditions prior to price preparation.
• Coordinate with Operations, PMO and Owners staff to ensure accurate estimates.
• Obtain pricing from Suppliers/Subcontractors and incorporate into estimates.
