Job summary

Aecon Utilities Inc. in Michigan seeks an Estimator to provide accurate, competitive cost estimates for overhead and underground distribution projects across the U.S. and Canada. You will analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and addenda to develop pricing and support bid submissions.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in Civil, Electrical, Construction Management or related field, with 3–7 years estimating experience and proficiency in MS Excel and estimating software.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil, Electrical, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3–7 years of estimating experience, preferably in overhead and underground distribution.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience performing quantity take-offs and preparing detailed estimates.
• Familiarity with estimating software and MS Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for overhead and underground distribution projects.
• Analyze drawings and specifications to develop accurate pricing.
• Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support bid submissions and prequalification packages.
• Maintain estimating files and historical data.
• Collaborate with Operations, Project Management, and clients to validate scope.
