Qualifications

• Experience in heavy civil and road construction estimating.
• Proficiency with estimating software and digital take-off tools.

• Strong communication and collaboration with project teams.
• Several years of bid experience in heavy civil or highway projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for roadway, paving, and heavy civil construction projects.
• Complete quantity take-offs and develop labor, equipment, and material cost analyses.
• Review project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents.
• Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop competitive bid packages and proposal submissions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams during the estimating process.
• Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and project handoff meetings.
• Maintain and update current pricing databases, production rates, and estimating standards.
• Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
• Evaluate project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support contract negotiations and ensure timely submission of accurate estimates.
• Monitor market trends, material costs, and industry developments affecting project pricing.
