Veracity Electric is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead and develop our estimating function, focusing on accuracy, consistency, accountability, and strategic growth. The role oversees estimating operations and supports bid strategy to position projects for successful execution.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with deep electrical knowledge, a passion for mentoring, and a commitment to operational excellence across commercial and industrial projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electrical contracting with estimating or leadership.
• Strong labor productivity, pricing, and cost modeling knowledge.
• Experience creating/improving estimating systems and workflows.
• Proven leadership, communication, and organization skills.
• Collaborates with Business Development, Operations, and Finance.
• Proficient with Accubid Anywhere and bid tracking systems.
• Experience on commercial/industrial electrical projects; multi-state work.
• Design‑assist or negotiated project experience; success mentoring teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating team with clear expectations and standardized processes.
• Oversee cost databases, labor units, material pricing, and systems.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and aligned with standards.
• Support bid/no-bid decisions with Business Development and Operations.
• Prioritize opportunities by profitability, risk, and strategy.
• Implement risk, contingency, and scope review processes.
• Track hit rate, estimate accuracy, and workload capacity.
• Coordinate with Operations for smooth handoffs and transfers.
• Communicate scope, assumptions, qualifications, and risks clearly.
• Mentor estimating staff for long-term growth.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating tools and processes.
