Job summary

Babcock & Wilcox in Akron, Ohio is seeking an Estimator to partner with engineers, PMs, sales, and suppliers to prepare cost estimates for boiler and environmental equipment.

You will work from drawings, specifications, supplier quotations, engineering standards, estimating data, and prior estimates to develop timely and accurate estimates. This role also involves mentoring junior estimators and participating in cost reviews to support proposals.

Qualifications

• Prepare cost estimates for boiler and environmental equipment.
• Coordinate with engineers, product managers, sales specialists and suppliers to meet proposal deadlines.
• Mentor less experienced estimators and share estimating best practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposal cost estimates and pricing for boiler and environmental equipment.
• Work from drawings, specifications, supplier quotations, standards, data bases and prior estimates to develop estimates.
• Develop complete project estimates including material costs, man-hours, purchased goods, freight and other costs.
