Job summary

Babcock & Wilcox Akron seeks an experienced Proposal Manager to develop complete quote proposals for boiler pressure parts within the Global Parts & Services organization. You will determine scope, cost, and lead times, coordinating with multiple internal groups to deliver compelling quotes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of related experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), and excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with an Associate Mechanical Engineering Technical degree or equivalent
• Experience with creating bills of material and proposal development
• Excellent communication, reading and writing skills
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem solving
• Travel as needed and ability to work in a team environment
• Familiar with internal processes and CAD tools

Responsibilities

• Determine complete scope of customer requests
• Research contracts, aftermarket work, and engineering standards
• Formalize scope description and identify manufacturing facility
• Compute total cost, price, and lead time across internal resources
• Coordinate with multiple groups to track and expedite quotes
• Maintain quote ownership and manage multiple quotes concurrently
• Provide primary contact for technical and other inquiries
• Conduct final review before submitting quotes to customers
