Job summary

Engel Excavating LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Estimator (Earthwork) to lead the estimating process and drive growth on large sitework projects in the Midwest. You will secure new work, prepare comprehensive estimates, and mentor teams through planning, scheduling, and execution.

You will oversee budgeting, risk management, and client communication while ensuring safe, on-time, and profitable project delivery with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading estimating efforts on large, complex projects.
• Advanced understanding of estimating principles, cost analysis and budgeting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate resources and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, review, and submission of competitive estimates and proposals.
• Prepare detailed estimates with quantity takeoffs, pricing, and bid strategy.
• Provide leadership for multiple projects, guiding planning, execution, and delivery.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings to align objectives and teams.
• Secure permits, licenses, and project documentation for compliance.
• Monitor costs, labor, and materials to maintain profitability.
• Oversee project billing and cash flow with Project Accountant.
• Manage changes and change orders aligning scope, schedule, and profitability.
• Lead meetings to communicate progress and resolve issues.
• Mentor estimators and project managers for growth and accountability.
• Provide updates to leadership on performance, risks and opportunities.
