Job summary

Sundt Construction, Inc. seeks a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction activities and serve as the primary contact with design teams and owners in Phoenix, AZ.

The role requires analyzing mechanical and electrical scopes, developing conceptual estimates, and coordinating with operations to ensure feasible project plans while mentoring junior estimators and supporting multiple project delivery methods.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Ten or more years of experience in an estimating role.
• LEED accreditation and DBIA certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Successful history executing projects as the prime contact with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Capably performs basic estimating functions including quantity takeoff, pricing for all trade work, and abstracting.
• Develops conceptual estimates for review by senior personnel.
• Justifies and reconciles Sundt estimates when third party consultants are involved.
• Leads the preparation of estimating documents and deliverables with minimal oversight.
• Performs advanced estimating tasks including prime contact for hard bid pursuits and constructability reviews.
• Coordinates with operations to ensure reasonable project plans (schedule, logistics, staffing).
• Provides feedback to design team regarding cost and constructability.
