Job summary

AltairStrickland, LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator to support capital projects, maintenance, turnarounds, and industrial construction from our Corporate office in Texas. The role focuses on developing accurate cost estimates, evaluating bid documents, and preparing competitive proposals for refinery, petrochemical, chemical, and other industrial clients.

The successful candidate will apply expertise in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, towers, piping, and related mechanical equipment to scope

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of estimating experience in petrochemical/industrial sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and turnaround estimating.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Primavera P6 for estimates and proposals.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and bid documents accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive and organize RFPs, bid invitations, and inquiries.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and competitive bid proposals.
• Coordinate with Operations on execution plans and labor requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and labor productivity analyses.
• Review drawings and bid documents to determine project requirements.
• Solicit and analyze vendor quotes for estimates.
• Identify risks and opportunities during estimating.
• Prepare bid deliverables and support bid reviews and handoffs.
• Conduct site visits to verify scope requirements and collect data.
• Maintain accurate proposal logs and customer communications.
