Job summary

AltairStrickland LLC, a division within EMCOR Industrial Services, seeks a Lead Estimator to support capital projects, maintenance, and turnarounds from its corporate office. The role requires strong knowledge of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems, with the ability to develop detailed, competitive estimates for refinery and petrochemical clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent industry experience considered.
• Minimum of five (5) years estimating experience within petrochemical, chemical, refining, or related industrial sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical construction, maintenance, and turnaround activities (piping, heat exchangers, pressure vessels).
• Proficiency with MS Office and Primavera (P6) to prepare estimates, proposals, and documentation.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work, bid documents, and other technical information.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, organize, and track RFPs, bid invitations, and proposal inquiries.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and competitive bid proposals for capital, maintenance, and turnaround projects.
• Collaborate with Operations to develop execution plans including labor requirements, sequences, schedules, and contingencies.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and labor productivity analyses to support accurate estimates.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
• Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations for inclusion in estimates.
• Identify and document risks, assumptions, exclusions, and opportunities during estimating.
• Prepare and support bid deliverables ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Participate in estimate reviews, bid strategy meetings, and handoffs with operations.
• Conduct site visits and field walks to verify scope, conditions, and necessary information.
