Industry: Petrochemical / Refining / Industrial Projects
Position Overview
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive capital cost estimates for large industrial projects across multiple phases of project development. This role requires deep technical understanding, strong market awareness, and close collaboration with engineering and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare conceptual, feasibility, and detailed cost estimates for capital projects
- Develop quantity take-offs and pricing based on engineering deliverables
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
- Evaluate vendor and contractor bids and provide commercial assessments
- Develop estimate bases, assumptions, and risk allowances
- Support project reviews, funding approvals, and decision-making processes
- Benchmark estimates against historical data and industry standards
- Collaborate with project controls and engineering teams to align scope and costs
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in capital project estimating
- Direct experience estimating petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial facilities
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant technical field
- Strong knowledge of estimating methodologies, cost databases, and market trends
- Experience with estimating software and tools
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
