Job summary

Insight Global in Tempe, AZ seeks a seasoned mechanical estimator to independently evaluate drawings/specs for scope, constructability, and risks; lead development of detailed estimates with take-offs, subcontractor comparisons, and internal productivity assumptions; prepare pricing breakdowns and VE options for major bid packages.

You will lead estimate reviews, align scopes, identify gaps, develop cost strategies and narratives for proposals; participate in design-review and value-engineering

Qualifications

• 3+ years in mechanical estimating across sectors.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, addenda.
• Proficient with Excel and Bluebeam.
• Strong communication with leadership and customers.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate drawings and specs for scope, completeness, constructability, and risk.
• Develop detailed estimates with take-offs and subcontractor comparisons.
• Prepare spec summaries, pricing breakdowns, and VE options.
• Lead estimate reviews and align scopes; identify gaps and risks.
• Engage in design-review and value-engineering sessions.
• Present scopes during customer reviews.
• Mentor estimators and QA/QC their work.
• Support transition of awarded projects to operations.
