Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Estimator (Mechanical, Electrical & CSA) for on-site work in Phoenix, AZ. The role supports large capital projects across industrial, manufacturing, and infrastructure environments, developing detailed estimates, takeoffs, and pricing models.

Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and project teams, maintaining estimating databases, and driving accuracy and efficiency. A strong Excel skillset and CAD Measure experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of estimating experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, or Civil/Structural construction.
• Experience preparing estimates for large capital construction projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience utilizing CAD Measure or similar estimation tools.
• Working knowledge of construction estimating systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze construction drawings, specs, blueprints to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for Mechanical, Electrical, or CSA scopes.
• Develop unit rates and pricing models using market data, quotes, and cost databases.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and design teams to understand scope.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries, benchmarks, and historical data.
• Prepare estimate reconciliations between design phases and identify drivers and variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, conceptual estimating, and competitive bids.
• Maintain project documentation and estimate files per company standards.
• Conduct pricing and benchmarking research for project planning and decisions.
• Assist with developing estimating best practices and mentoring junior staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
