Jobot is seeking a Sr. Electrical Estimator for on-site work in the Mesa, AZ area.

The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates for diverse electrical construction projects, evaluating bid specifications, and pursuing opportunities with a leading national contractor. You will mentor junior estimators, collaborate on bid strategies, and contribute to high-impact projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and data center sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction estimation.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and/or engineering design drawings.
• Strong experience with take-off and bidding processes.
• Proficient in estimating software and spreadsheet software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking with high accuracy in calculations and estimates.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical construction materials and processes.
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best prices for materials and services.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive, detailed project estimates by analyzing plans and specs and identifying cost drivers.
• Evaluate bid specs and drawings to ensure all requirements are captured for bidding.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress, and cost tracking reports.
• Build relationships with suppliers and contractors to obtain best prices.
• Review blueprints/engineering drawings to determine materials and scope.
• Perform arithmetic calculations for accurate cost estimates.
• Mentor and develop junior estimators to foster growth.
• Participate in bid strategy and review meetings.
• Conduct studies to establish standard hours and data for cost reduction.
