Confidential Search in East San Diego County, CA seeks a Senior Estimator to run its estimating group for underground utilities and heavy civil projects. This on-site, direct-hire role leads a 3–5 person team and builds competitive bids for major utility owners and public agencies.

You will own the numbers, drive bid strategy, and coordinate with operations for a smooth hand-off to field crews. Office-based with strong growth potential.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years estimating experience in underground utility or heavy civil construction.
• Experience bidding public works and utility-owner projects with prevailing wage/DIR compliance.
• Experience leading a team of estimators.
• Proficiency with major estimating tools listed above.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent construction management experience.

Aufgaben

• Manage and mentor a team of 3–5 estimators.
• Build production-based estimates for large underground utility and civil projects.
• Prepare competitive bids for public agencies and utility owners.
• Analyze RFPs, scopes, plans and specs; perform detailed take-offs and bid schedules.
• Lead pre-bid meetings, bid strategies and site visits.
• Define sub/supplier scopes and maintain pricing databases.
• Review final estimates with Operations and submit bid packages.
• Compare actual vs budget costs and build cost models from history.
• Support project managers with hand-off, resource planning, and change orders.
