Job summary

Sargent Electric is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead complex electrical construction estimates from conceptual budgeting through final pricing. You will partner with operations, preconstruction, procurement, VDC, and project management to drive project success.

This role focuses on large-scale, mission critical projects, mentoring estimators and interns, and delivering accurate, competitive bids while aligning with safety and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years electrical construction estimating experience.
• 3+ years serving as lead estimator on projects >$10M.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction means and methods, labor analysis, and cost development.
• Experience developing conceptual, schematic, GMP, and construction document estimates.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with clients, project teams, vendors, and leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead complete estimating lifecycle from conceptual budgets to GMP and change orders.
• Serve as lead estimator on assigned pursuits and coordinate with operations, procurement, and project teams.
• Develop and manage detailed quantity takeoffs, labor analyses, and pricing strategies for complex projects.
• Prepare bid summaries, estimate narratives, risk registers, value engineering proposals, alternatives, and clarifications.
• Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing; monitor market conditions and material availability.
• Support client presentations, budget reviews, and cost discussions to aid pursuits and relationships.
• Mentor junior estimators and interns and develop departmental capabilities.
• Collaborate with field leadership to validate production rates, methods, and logistics.
• Utilize BIM/VDC workflows and cost databases to improve accuracy and efficiency.
