Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to provide and coordinate full estimating services on large mechanical and electrical construction projects in Texas. You will mentor junior estimators and lead the estimating effort from bid to final proposal.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, performing takeoffs, and quantifying risks with FastPipe/Fastduct and ConEst(Intellibid). The role emphasizes cost control, accuracy, and timely bid submission.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience in mechanical and/or electrical construction.
• Proven track record estimating and negotiating large, complex projects.
• Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques and listed software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead total estimating effort for bids or projects.
• Provide complete conceptual and final estimating input on complex projects.
• Review specifications and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope.
• Perform takeoffs using FastPipe/Fastduct and ConEst(Intellibid).
• Identify risks, safety requirements, and schedule-related costs for bids.
• Develop final estimate summary sheet and coordinate with Chief Estimator.
• Mentor junior estimators and support preconstruction team.
