Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the estimating process from start to finish for heavy civil construction projects. You will work with multiple departments to ensure estimates and bid proposals are accurate, competitive, and on time.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction estimating, a related degree, and proficiency with HeavyBid, inEight, or Bid2Win. The role emphasizes collaboration with clients, subs, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, with experience in a construction setting preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
• Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, inEight, or Bid2Win.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other project documents to determine the scope of work and estimate costs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for construction projects.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that estimates are accurate and complete.
• Communicate regularly with other team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of estimates.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlines.
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
