Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking a Structure Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for bridge, retaining wall, box culvert, and other structural construction projects.

You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and develop comprehensive cost estimates in collaboration with operations, engineering, and project management teams. The role involves evaluating plans, specifications, quantities, and production strategies, identifying risks and opportunities, and

Qualifications

• Heavy civil or bridge construction experience.
• Knowledge of MoDOT bridge specifications.
• Experience estimating cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and foundation systems.
• Familiarity with Ineight Estimate, HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, AGTEK, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Review bridge and structure plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, piling, cofferdams, and related work.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities.
• Participate and lead bid reviews and estimate presentations.
• Support project handoff meetings after award.
• Support operation team with technical change order pricing.
