Job summary

Rosendin in San Jose, CA is seeking an Estimator III to lead project estimates, collaborating with estimators, suppliers and customers on medium to large projects. You will prepare take-offs, coordinate quotes, and ensure accurate bid data.

You will review drawings, identify value engineering opportunities, and mentor junior estimators while maintaining detailed documentation. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control
• Read and interpret blueprints/design drawings
• Perform arithmetic calculations for estimates
• Mentor and assist with development of Estimators

Responsibilities

• Lead project estimates for several medium projects or one large project
• Prepare estimates from quantity take-offs and produce computer printouts
• Identify areas for value engineering to reduce costs
• Review proposals, drawings and specs to determine scope and contents of estimates
• Solicit quotes from qualified suppliers/subcontractors and manage bid packages
• Maintain backup documents and data for estimates
• Develop labor productivity rates and unit costs based on site conditions
• Present scope, technical requirements and pricing to Chief Estimator for review
• Explain job scope and risks to project management after bid award
• Maintain estimating program files and ensure proper documentation
