Rosendin Electric, Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Estimator to lead bid and cost estimates for electrical construction projects.

You will prepare estimates from takeoffs, review drawings, and coordinate with suppliers and customers to deliver competitive proposals. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering, at least four years of estimating experience, proficiency with Accubid, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam, and the ability to mentor junior

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Perform arithmetic calculations for estimating.
• Estimate all types of projects and coordinate/supervise group effort.
• Mentor and assist with the development of Estimators.
• Identify and meet customers’ needs, expectations, and requirements.
• Proficient in using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
• Oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
• Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
• Interact effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, clients.

Responsabilités

• Prepare estimate from quantity take-off on project and complete estimate to computer printout.
• Identify parts of project that may be key to making a competitive estimate.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope.
• Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings.
• Provide leadership to personnel preparing discipline sub estimates for bids.
• Maintain working documents and data backing estimate figures.
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on site conditions.
• Prepare detailed listing of materials and equipment and obtain quotes.
• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes.
• Ensure timely completion of client-required documents.
• Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects.
• Review scope with Chief Estimator before issuing formal bid package.
• Explain job scope and critical points to Project Management after bid.
• Maintain Rosendin estimating program files.
