Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to join our team in Roswell, NM. You will prepare estimates for design/build, engineering, construction management, GMP, and hard-bid projects, and support bid day activities. Strong cost-control, reading drawings, and multi-trade estimating experience are essential.

Travel up to 40% may be required. The role offers exposure to a range of projects and opportunities for professional growth within a values-driven firm.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent with 8+ years related experience.
Travel 20–40% may be required.
Ability to read drawings and specifications and develop estimates across multiple trades.
Experience with cost estimation, subcontractor bids, and material pricing.

Responsibilities

Prepares design/build, engineer, construction management, guaranteed maximum price, and hard-bid estimates/proposals.
Analyzes quotations both prior to and on bid day.
Evaluates bids of sub-contractors and suppliers for completeness of scope, delivery time, and compliance with the specifications and other requirements.
Enters quantity take-offs and material unit pricings as applicable to project.
Develop subcontractor and vendor scopes and reviews same for completeness.
Manages bid day and close out activities.
