Job summary

Performance Contracting Group seeks a Senior Estimator for its PCI Knoxville operations based in Knoxville, TN. You will lead estimation efforts for complex projects, prepare RFPs, and manage bid analyses while collaborating with owners, PMs, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

You will develop detailed takeoffs and cost estimates, review schedules, and train junior estimators. This safety‑sensitive role offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package in a dynamic construction

Qualifications

• 5–7 years’ experience estimating construction projects.
• 10 years total experience in construction industry.
• Strong ability to read/read & interpret specifications and drawings.
• Proven track record establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and cost-analysis skills.
• Ability to read project schedules and determine sequencing and durations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare RFPs for applicable scopes of work.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotes for alignment with bid documents.
• Develop relationships with local customers to support PCI objectives.
• Collaborate with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Attend pre-bid site walk-throughs.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and estimates.
• Dissect projects into functional stages.
• Review project schedules related to scopes.
• Write detailed proposals with accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare bid analyses and bid reviews.
• Prepare financial job cost analyses.
• Source subcontractors, materials, and equipment while evaluating pricing.
• Provide training and leadership to Estimating team.
• Maintain accountability and ownership of business metrics and sales plans.
• Participate in bid strategy meetings for major pursuits.
