Austin Commercial, a leading construction firm, seeks a Senior Estimator for our Houston, TX Division. This key position focuses on quantity/cost take-offs, bid development, and collaboration with owners, architects, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates and value engineering.

We are an ESOP-owned company offering growth and stability. Applicants should have 5–9 years of estimating experience, a relevant BS/BA, and strong math, communication, and software skills.

Qualifications

• 5–9 years of estimating experience in bid and negotiated work.
• BS/BA in engineering, construction science or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with construction materials, means and methods.
• Strong math and analytical mindset.
• Proficient in estimating and quantity take-off software.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
• Thoroughness and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity and cost take-offs.
• Develop accurate clarifications and assumptions.
• Identify conflicts or missing data from plans with design professionals.
• Develop bid lists and invite subcontractors to bid.
• Attend design meetings to understand scope and requirements.
• Identify cost savings and value engineering opportunities.
• Review documents for onerous requirements.
