Job summary

rand* construction is seeking a dynamic Senior Estimator in Austin, TX. You will lead bidding and estimating, outline subcontractor scopes, and guide preconstruction deliverables in the proposal process.

Qualifications include a BS/BA in Engineering or Construction Management and 10+ years of commercial construction estimating. Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering or Construction Management (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of architecture, engineering and construction.
• Strong ability to analyze project drawings, specifications and RFPs.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual estimates, bids and pricing analysis for proposed projects.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs.
• Maintain bid log of documents, prepare detailed sub-contractor scope of work, and bid follow-up.
• Prepare time, cost and labor estimates by analyzing drawings, specifications and RFPs.
• Develop subcontractor relationships and solicit bids.
• Evaluate bid specifications and drawings.
• Develop budgets and RFIs.
• Engage with marketing and other internal teams during the proposal/bidding process.
• Communicate with owners, architects, engineers and project team.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise in systems, procedures, means and methods.
• Conduct research on latest construction materials, pricing and trends.
