Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Estimator for our Heavy Highway/Structures division in New Jersey. You will provide accurate, competitive estimates for roads, bridges, and infrastructure, collaborating with project teams from proposal through project delivery.

The role demands a strong background in construction estimation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with high accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an estimator in heavy highway construction.
• Strong budgeting and cost estimating knowledge with construction methods and regs.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy highway construction projects by analyzing plans and specs.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements for each project from proposals and blueprints.
• Forecast project costs including equipment, labor, materials, and time; suggest resource optimizations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand requirements and estimate costs.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of cost estimates, historical data, and inputs.
• Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and QA compliance.
• Monitor design changes and site conditions; adjust estimates accordingly.
• Participate in proposals and client meetings to explain cost estimates.
