Job summary

Goodfellow Bros. (GBI) seeks an Estimator in Reno, NV to develop accurate, timely estimates for public and private heavy civil projects. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, prepare bids, and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.

The role includes pre-bid planning, risk assessment, and support during project execution, mentoring junior staff where needed and assisting with change orders and turnover to the project team.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.
• Experience with earthwork, utilities, concrete, grading, paving, site development.
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob, Excel, Word and Project.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs, soils reports to define estimating strategy.
• Define project scope and determine self-perform vs subcontracted work.
• Coordinate quantity takeoffs and pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare detailed estimates, schedules, and bid deliverables.
• Support after award with change orders and project execution.
