Goodfellow Bros. (GBI) is seeking an Estimator to join our Reno, NV team. The Estimator will develop accurate, timely estimates for public and private heavy civil projects, coordinate with subcontractors, and support the pursuit through project execution.

The role covers bid development, value engineering insights, risk assessment, and mentorship to junior estimators, with a focus on achieving competitive pricing and successful project handoff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of heavy civil construction experience with estimating responsibilities.
• Experience with earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, grading, paving, structural excavation, and site development.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, timely, and competitive estimates for public and private heavy civil construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing with labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.
• Support pre-bid planning, site investigations, and change order pricing throughout project execution.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to optimize pricing and execution.
• Prepare bid deliverables, schedules, and executive summaries for bids.
