Job summary

Enfield Enterprises, a federal government contracting firm, seeks estimators for our offices in Springfield, MA, Pensacola, FL, or Ballston Spa, NY. The role focuses on preparing detailed cost estimates from drawings, assembling bids, and coordinating with subs and the design team to ensure accurate proposals.

The position requires extensive experience, strong communication, and the ability to interpret complex contract documents and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Ability to obtain security clearance as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates by taking-off quantities and analyzing data.
• Prepare and assemble bids and proposals for various contract types (Lump Sum, GMP, Cost Plus).
• Coordinate with subcontractors, design team, and client as liaison.
• Develop value analyses to propose cost-efficient alternatives.
• Prepare scope requisitions for trades and coordinate with the project team.
• Understand factors required to prepare bids: contract docs, site logistics, schedule, means and methods.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals relative to their scope of work.
• Manage post-bid action items and finalize subcontract scope.
