gpac is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Commercial Construction. You will review plans, perform takeoffs, and develop accurate estimates while collaborating with trade partners to ensure competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep knowledge of construction principles, engineering practices, management strategies, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Strong planning and decision-making skills to navigate challenges and keep projects on track.
• Skilled at finding solutions and reaching agreements that benefit all stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of safety standards and legal issues to ensure compliance and maintain secure worksites.
• Clear, confident communicator with the ability to influence and inspire others.
• Integrity, respect, and the tact to build trust across teams.
• A sense of urgency, proactive mindset, and a work ethic that delivers results.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and drawings to understand project scope and develop accurate estimates from the ground up.
• Perform takeoffs, identify labor and material requirements, and uncover scope gaps before they become costly surprises.
• Analyze costs, compare subcontractor proposals, and develop pricing that supports smart, profitable decision‑making.
• Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and owners to gather information and clarify scope.
• Balance project vision, constructability, and budget to deliver best value for clients.
• Identify risks, resolve cost discrepancies, and develop practical solutions before issues impact the project.
• Support value engineering efforts and help find creative ways to meet project goals within budget.
• Partner with estimators, project managers, and operations teams to ensure complete scopes and successful handoffs.
• Prepare estimates, recommendations, and pricing information to help leadership make informed decisions.
• Maintain accurate estimate files, backup documentation, and project records for easy access and verification.
• Stay curious about construction methods, market conditions, and industry trends to continuously improve knowledge and results.
