Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in Channelview/Houston, TX is seeking a Sr. Estimator (Mechanical/Civil/Structural) to lead cost estimation for large-scale industrial EPC and data center projects.

You will develop detailed takeoffs, pricing, and bid strategy for lump sum, unit rate, and T&M proposals. The role requires 10+ years in industrial construction estimation, strong knowledge of piping, civil and structural cost drivers, and proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree).
• 10+ years estimating experience in industrial construction with a strong focus on mechanical/piping scopes.
• Strong working knowledge of civil and structural construction methods and cost drivers.
• Advanced proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, civil drawings, and structural plans.
• Minimal travel for pre-bid site visits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical scopes, emphasizing piping and mechanical systems.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and equipment pricing using Accubid and Excel.
• Review drawings and scope documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and construction teams to validate assumptions.
• Develop pricing for lump sum, unit rate, and time-and-materials proposals.
• Develop construction schedules in Microsoft Project.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for alignment with scope and standards.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Support bid reviews, estimate reconciliations, and post-bid handoff meetings.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and productivity benchmarks.
