Job summary

Calhoun Construction is seeking an experienced commercial construction estimator to drive bid estimates from conceptual through construction phases in Louisville, KY.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of estimator experience, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), and strong skills in Excel, takeoff software, and blueprint interpretation. This is a full-time role with relocation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or combination of education and years of experience.
• Minimum 10 years experience as a commercial construction estimator.
• Experience with conceptual and schematic design budgeting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints with strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, create, submit quality estimates with detailed proposals from conceptual to construction.
• Prepare high level quantity and manpower take-offs.
• Prospect and procure new opportunities for bid.
• Comprehensively analyze plans, specifications, proposals for bid estimates.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, jobsite walk-throughs and coordination meetings.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $110,000.00 Annually

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects is required
• Review, create, submit quality estimates with detailed proposals from conceptual to construction.
• Prepare high level quantity and manpower take-offs
• Prospect and procure new opportunities for bid
• Comprehensively analyze plans, specifications, proposals and additional documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, jobsite walk-throughs, bids, and coordination meetings
• Must maintain an extremely professional working relationship with clients, subcontractors, and peers
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
