Job summary

Calhoun Construction in Louisville, KY is seeking a senior Commercial Construction Estimator to lead bid development for multiple projects. You will review drawings and specs, prepare detailed estimates, and coordinate with clients and subcontractors to ensure competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator.
• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and years of experience.
• Experience with conceptual and schematic design budgeting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Review, create, submit quality estimates with detailed proposals.
• Prepare high level quantity and manpower take-offs.
• Prospect and procure new opportunities for bid.
• Analyze plans, specifications, proposals to prepare bid estimates for projects.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, jobsite walk-throughs, bids, and coordination meetings.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and peers.
• Other duties as assigned.
