Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead cost estimating and preconstruction for commercial and multi-family projects in the Canton, MA area. You will produce detailed takeoffs, analyze drawings, and guide pricing decisions with internal teams and clients.

You will manage bid processes, mentor junior estimators, and contribute to value engineering to deliver buildable, profitable solutions. This role requires strong analytical skills and communication with design and procurement teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience estimating commercial and multi-family construction projects with successful bids and cost control.
• Experience in preconstruction activities, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
• Knowledge of construction means/methods, cost drivers, labor and material pricing, and subcontractor markets.
• Proficiency with estimating software (Planswift, Bluebeam, RSMeans, Hard Dollar) and Excel; BIM familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and produce detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid packages for commercial and multi-family projects.
• Analyze drawings, specs, and scope documents to develop accurate estimates and identify cost drivers and opportunities for VE.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to solicit bids and verify pricing.
• Prepare and present estimate summaries and bid recommendations to stakeholders and clients; support pricing decisions.
• Maintain and update unit price databases, historical cost records, and estimation templates.
• Lead risk assessments and contingency planning; identify constructability issues and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers during transition from estimating to execution; ensure scope alignment.
• Mentor and train junior estimators, review work for accuracy, promote best practices in estimating methods and software.
• Support business development with pricing strategies, proposals, and client meetings as needed.
