Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Estimator for our established general contracting client in Canton, MA. The role focuses on evaluating opportunities, developing competitive bids, and guiding projects from concept to reality.

You will work with a skilled preconstruction team to shape strategy and ensure accurate, competitive cost estimates. With a salary range of $130,000 to $185,000 per year, this position offers growth within a collaborative, team-oriented environment committed to craftsmanship

Qualifications

• Experience estimating for a commercial general contractor.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Strong cost analysis and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual design through final bid.
• Review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Identify scope gaps, cost risks, and value engineering opportunities.
• Develop bid packages, pricing summaries, and detailed estimate breakdowns.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, and subcontractors during preconstruction.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and pricing records.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope reviews.
• Assist with bid strategy, cost analysis, and proposal preparation.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time.
